Wilbert W Furr

Wilbert W. Furr age 89 of Galion passed away at his home on June 24, 2021. He was born on April 6, 1932 to the late James P. and Cora (Carpenter) Furr in Shelby. Wilbert was married to Darcia (Gaul) Furr for many wonderful years, she preceded him in death.

He is survived by his children Melodie (Michael) Swango, Steven Furr, Kevin (Debbie) Furr, Ronald (Tina) Furr, and Rory (Tammy) Furr, his grandchildren Mikila (Shawn Mowery) Swango, Mindy (Brandon) Breeze, Mare (Crystal) Swango, Nick Furr, Jayla Furr, Shane Furr, Tiffany (Chris) Lohr, Levi (Deana) Furr, Morgan (Jake) Miller, Heather (Roger) Carver, Misty (Andy) Cole, Jennifer (Denny) Marsh, Brittney (Daniel) Porter, Wesley (Brook) Furr, and Jared Furr who is currently serving in the U.S. Army following in his grandfather's footsteps. Wilbert is also survived by his 31 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. He is survived by his siblings Gerri (Floyd) Shaw, Edna Zigler, James Furr, Herb (Kate) Furr, Dick (Barb) Furr, Fred (Jennifer) Furr, and numerous nieces and nephews. Wilbert is preceded in death by his son Willie Furr, grandson Corey Furr, granddaughter Courtney Furr, and brother Lloyd Furr.

Wilbert worked as a truck driver and mechanic throughout his life. He was a former member of Teamsters and the Galion Moose. Wilbert enjoyed being active and loved being outdoors. He was an animal lover as well, especially horses and dogs.
