Walter J. Whitaker

Walter James Whitaker Sr. age 61 of LaRue died at Marion General Hospital on Apr. 3, 2021. He was born on Jan. 28, 1960 in Salyersville, KY to the late Luther and Maudie (Rowe) Whitaker Sr. He married the sweetest girl in the world Kimberly Force in 1983, she preceded him in death on Jan. 3, 2021,three months apart to the day. Surviving are his children Dorothy (Aaron) Snare, Walter Whitaker Jr. and Jacqueline (Anthony Brown) Whitaker, grandchildren Damian Goldberg, Drew Goldberg, Wyatt Whitaker, Colton Whitaker, Zyleana Whitaker and Kevin Whitaker, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. He is preceded in death by 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
Mr Whitaker was a self employed plumber and retired from Marion County Engineers Office as a truck driver.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, collecting trains, he liked dogs, flea markets, the history channel and going on long rides. He always said “you can mess with anyone else, but not my family.
A celebration of life will be held at Fite Memorial Baptist Church 497 Davids St. Marion, OH at 6:00 p.m. on Fri. Apr. 9, 2021 with Pastor David Carlyle officiating.
