Vivian Culver of Marion died surrounded by her family on Saturday April 9, 2016 at 5:27pm under the care of Marion General Hospital Hospice at Marion Manor. She was born on April 9 in Minnie, KY to Howard and Verlie (Harrington) Samons. She married Walter E. Culver Jr. on February 4, 1961 and he survives in Marion. They celebrated 55 years of marriage.
Mrs. Culver is survived by a son Tom Culver, Chillicothe, OH, a daughter Kerry (Steve) White, Sacramento, CA, a granddaughter Emma White, brother Franklin (Jackie) Samons, three sisters Tonda (Mike) Hall, Joan (Robert) Bracken, and Thelma Samons.
Mrs. Culver was a 50 year member of Richland Road Church of Christ, Marion. She was a homemaker and good wife and mother. Mrs. Culver was an artistic person who loved music especially classical, swing and big band. She enjoyed drawing, reading and writing poetry. Vivian was known as a movie buff and was extremely knowledgeable about black and white films.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at Richland Road Church of Christ. Memorial contributions may be made to Marion General Hospital Hospice 278 Barks Rd.
