Virginia Schell

June 21, 1937 — April 9, 2021

Virginia “Ginny” Schell, 83, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 9, 2021 in her daughter’s home after a brief period of decline. Although being diagnosed with cancer in 2019, she did not seek treatment and was able to live the way she wanted, being mostly independent until her last days where she was cared for by her daughter and the angels from Ohio Health Hospice. She was visited by many of those close to her in her last days.

She was born in New Washington, Ohio on June 21, 1937 to the late Walter and Ethel (Tong) Heydinger. She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, James Schell. She was also preceded in death by brothers Harry, Carlton, Carlyle and Ronald Heydinger and sisters Nancy Stockmaster, Garnetta Hinesman and Harriette Kline. She is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline (Donald) Bores, step-son, Marc (Michelle) Schell, step-daughter, Dawn (Doug) Schnabel, all of Bucyrus. She is also survived by grandchildren, Andrew (Yvette) Bores, Jillian (Jason) Fox, Chelsea (Brandon) Green, Cody Schnabel, and Mackenzie (Matt McComb) Schell. She is also survived by brothers Ken (Evelyn) Heydinger and Gregory (Rae Ann) Heydinger and sisters Emma Lee Flohr and Carolyn (Ray) Heck), sister-in-law Karen Heydinger, brother-in-law Jack Stockmaster, 6 great grandchildren, many cousins, and loving nieces and nephews who were very special to her and would often call or stop by to visit.

Ginny worked at Timken for over 42 years, and after retiring, she volunteered for the Red Cross, the Bucyrus Hospital and the Crawford County Courthouse for several years, until her health no longer allowed. Over the years, she enjoyed waitressing and being around people.

She loved playing cards, spending time with family, especially her great-grandchildren Brady and Sophia and going on trips big or small. Ginny could be counted on for picking a good place to eat.
