Virginia E. Hanson

Virginia E. Hanson, 82 of Marion passed away on Wednesday January 9, 2019 at Marion Manor. Virginia was born June 25, 1936 in Detroit MI to the late James Foley and Virginia Elizabeth (Crowell) Mayes. She was also preceded in death by grandchild T.J., brother Daniel Foley, sister Patty Mayes, and daughter in law Carol.

Virginia is survived by sons Larry Hanson of Marion and Jeff (Ronny) Hanson of Reno, NV; daughters Patricia (Morris) Henson and Karen Gandee both of Marion; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brother Ronald (Patsy) Mayes of Dayton; sisters Shirley Shank of IN and Carol (Marlin) Adkins of Marion.

Several years ago Virginia worked at Kresge’s and at Fulfillment. She retired in 2004 as a Secretary at Ditmar’s and Associates. Virginia also sold Tupperware, Amway, and Toy Ladies. She lived her entire life in Marion and graduated from Marion Harding H.S. in 1954. She was a member of Christian Lighthouse and VFW Post 3313. Virginia enjoyed bowling and needle work making blankets for the grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 4:00 pm in the Christian Lighthouse, 291 Mark St., Marion with Pastor Larry Harrison officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00 pm until the time of the service.
