Verna Ashba

It is with great sadness that the family of Verna A. Ashba announce her passing. Verna, age 64 of New Bloomington, Ohio died at Marion General Hospital March 15th, 2025, surrounded by family. Verna was born December 2,1960 to Robert Parish and Evelyn (Waugh) Barlow. 

Verna also had another Dad in her life, Wayne Barlow. At the age of 13 Verna met the love of her life Darrell. They married March 6, 1977. They have been together for 51 years. They have 2 children Darrell Ashba Jr. and Angie Ashba, both of New Bloomington. Verna had 2 Grandchildren, Adrian Armstrong and Taylor Ashba. One Great Grandchild, Laina Ashba. Verna’s life has always been taking care of her family! Family was her everything. She was their rock.

 Verna worked in the Medical Field for many years before helping her sister with Daycare. The children loved her. Verna loved to ride her motorcycle and work in the yard taking care of her flowers. She also loved to sit around the fire and listen to her music. Verna is survived by 5 sisters, Connie(Michael) Harter, Janet Parish, Robin Williams, Laura Sedlock, Tonya Barlow all from Marion, Ohio. 2 Brothers, Scott (Shana) Parish from Easley S. Carolina and Terry (Tina) Barlow from Marion, Ohio. Verna had numerous Nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. Verna was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne & Evelyn, as well as her sister, Marilyn DeWitt.

 Family and Friends are Welcome to help Celebrate Verna’s life March 19, 2025, from 2-4 pm at the American Legion Post 605, 367 W. Main Street Waldo, Ohio 43356.
