Velma G Reinwald

Velma G. Reinwald age 94 of Marion, passed peacefully in her home of natural causes on Nov. 5, 2021. She was born January 30, 1927, in Radar, PA to Cody and Nettie (Converse) Hartman. She was the eldest child of 5 and is preceded in death by her sisters Lois Jean Ledford, Norma Lee Lick, Martha Cornelius & her brother William Cody Hartman. She is survived by one brother Norman Dee Hartman of Fort Mill, SC.

Velma is also survived by her children Keith Reinwald, Valerie (Craig) Werner, Melanie (Randy) Ross, 6 grandchildren Stephanie (Paul) Neyer, Brad Williams, Sarah John, Kyle Reinwald, Kendra Lyons, Kamey (Stephanie) Reinwald 10 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren

Velma’s family moved from Pittsburgh to Delaware, OH and later to Marion, OH where she met and married the love of her life, Eugene K. Reinwald, who preceded her in death in 2003. Velma loved traveling and camping with her family which they did extensively. Velma was graduate from Harding High School class of 1945 & was a lifelong member of Salem United Church of Christ. She worked for Wright Patterson Air force base where she was a decoder. Velma was also a cashier at the Vine St. Market and a hostess at Scotch and Sirloin. As well as a hostess at Applebee’s where she helped opened the Marion branch. Over the years she worked in varies places around Marion.

Per her wish there will be no services. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s or American Cancer Society. Affordable Cremation Services was honored to serve Velma’s family. Online condolences may be made at www.cremationservicesofohio.com .
