Tom C Layne

Tom C. Layne, 64 of Marion passed away on Monday June 13, 2016 at Heartland of Marion following a brief illness. Tom was born February 1, 1952 in W. Virginia to the late Thomas Layne and Edna (Martin) Layne Harless. He was married for 40 years to Becky (Cornelius) Layne who preceded him in death in 2014. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by brother Terry Layne.
Tom is survived by siblings Larry Layne of Mt. Gilead; Jim Martin of Marion; Keith Layne of N. Carolina; Steve Harless of Marion; Kathy Downey of Bellefontaine; and Lisa Harless of Marion; step father Jim Harless of Marion; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Tom graduated from Marion Harding H.S. in 1970 and worked for several years at Marion Power Shovel until their closing. He drove truck in North Carolina for several years following his work in Marion. One of the things Tom enjoyed most was being on the beaches in N. Carolina.
Private Services will be held by the family and memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society. Affordable Cremation Services of Ohio. 1701 Marion Williamsport Rd. is assisting the family with arrangements.
