Thomas R. Castle Sr.

Thomas Ray Castle Sr, age 82, of Kenton, OH, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, Feb 24, 2022. He was born March 4, 1939 in Whippoorwill, KY to Frank Bailey Castle and Merle Baldridge Castle and moved to Ohio in 1952 after the death of his mother.

Mr. Castle was born at his home in Whippoorwill, KY and grew up in the Appalachian Mountain towns of Nippa and Paintsville, KY, a descendant of a long line of Castle and Baldridge pioneer family members in the area. After arriving in Ohio, he worked for and retired from Marion Power Shovel prior to its closing. He was well known for his kindness and sense of humor, often indulging in practical jokes involving his children and grandchildren. Mr. Castle was an active member and a devout follower of the Lord at the Berea Baptist Church in Kenton, OH.
He was preceded in death by grandsons Kyle Wade Altman and Jonathen Siquoyah Castle; three brothers Robert Castle Sr, Douglas Irvin Castle, and Richard Castle, as well as three sisters, Darlene Castle, Beatrice Jane Castle Morris Berrier, Betty Jean Castle Bradford Wolfenbarger, and a son-in-law, Edward James Primmer.

In addition to his wife of 62 years, Jeannette Grace Inbody Castle, he is survived by a large legacy, including his children and their spouses, Peggy Sue Castle Primmer of Slidell, LA; Helen Castle Altman and Gary Altman of Midland, MI; Thomas Ray Castle Jr and Wendy Miller Castle of Marion, OH; and John Albert Castle and Rebecca Hand Castle of Cape Coral, FL. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Christina Marie Primmer Jackson of Gulfport, MS; Amber Nichole Spurlock of Gulfport, MS; Ashley Ann Primmer of Jacksonville, NC; Candi Lynn Primmer of Fort Irwin, CA; Beau Thomas Altman of Virginia Beach, VA; Ian Jon Altman of Midland, MI; Eric Ryan Altman of Midland, MI; Rahne Tesla Altman Snyder of Southport, NC; Ryne Kyle Altman of Midland, MI; Talisa Michelle Castle of Richwood, OH; Thomas Ray Castle III of Richwood, OH; Dennis James Carnell of Marion, OH; Tony Russell Castle of Marion, OH; Ryan Anthony Maldonado of Tifton, GA; Cody Tyler Castle of Alva, FL; and Brock Garrett Castle of Cape Coral, FL; a sister, Arlene Castle Tudor Hollen and Axel Hollen of Marion, OH; and a brother Frank Castle Sr and Karen “Kay” Castle, of Kenton, OH. In addition, he is survived by 19 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date with Rev David Keiper officiating. In lieu of flowers, personal contributions may be made to Mrs. Jeannette Castle. Affordable Cremation Services was honored to serve Thomas's family.
