Stephan D Welch

Stephan “Steve” Welch was born August 15, 1949, to Carl Welch and Betty “Rene”’ (McCleese) Welch in Marion, Ohio. He died peacefully at home with family by his side on January 17, 2025, after a long battle with cancer. Steve married Tracey Phillips on September 24, 2004. 

Steve is survived by his wife, Tracey (Phillips) Welch; daughter, Dawn (Dominic) Nocera; son, Eric Welch; grandchildren, Dr. Annamarie Nocera, Ryan Welch, Gianni Nocera, Elizabeth Nocera, Adam Welch; step-son, Brandon Garver; 2 step grandchildren, Braedon and Jaena Garver; sister, Diana Hughes, brother-in-law Skip (Kathy) Phillips, sister-in-law Becky Welch, and his beloved dog Calvin. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ronald Welch, and brother-in-law Jeff Phillips. 

Steve graduated from Marion Harding High School in 1967 and was a machinist most of his life. 

He enjoyed riding his Harley, playing pool, and helping neighbors. He was a lifelong blood donor. He was a former member of the Marion Moose. Steve was a member and door greeter at Family Life Church.
