Sally Rae (Freeman) Foster 78, of Waldo, OH died Sunday December 5, at Marion General Hospital, surrounded by loved ones. Born January 15, 1943, she was a custodian of the Waldo United Methodist Church for 40 years where she and her husband were members for 50 years (1971); self employed as a residential cleaning lady for over 20 years; as a young lady, she worked at the Bureau of Motor Vehicles in Columbus, OH. She was a delightful homemaker. People were always welcomed and made comfortable. Sally loved and cherished time outside of church, nourishing friendships by playing Skip Bo, Scrabble, Uno, eating out, congregating at one another’s homes. She had a creative mind that she shared by drawing portraits, writing songs, poems, and creating finger puppet plays for children, especially her grandchildren. In her younger years, she was a talented seamstress.
Sally was preceded in death by her husband (Jerry Foster) of nearly 50 years; her parents, Raymond C. Freeman and Flora D. (Maugans) Freeman of Ostrander; her sister Beverly Wood of Marion; her brother Mark Freeman of Ashley.
She is survived by her children, Kimberly (Vance) Cornelius of Marion; Scott (Lisa) Foster of Navarre, FL. Grandchildren, Jessica (Jamie) Hill of Marion; Satchel (Tatianna) Foster of Virginia Beach, VA; Shadelin (Brady) Jensen of Lehi, UT; Siena and Solaina Foster of Navarre, FL. She had been blessed with great-grandsons Shiloh Eutan Foster and Dorrance James Hill IV (Jay). Brother Jerry(Phyllis) Freeman, Columbus, sister Linda Rader, Radnor and sister-in-law Jody (Claude) Laird, Marysville, sister-in-law Jody (Claude) Laird.
Family and friends will be invited to honor Sally in a memorial service at the Waldo United Methodist Church. An announcement will be made at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the Foster family will graciously accept donations to assist with funeral expenses, in care of Kimberly Cornelius P.O. 494, Waldo, OH 43356. Remaining funds will be donated to the Waldo United Methodist Church, in memory of Sally Foster.
