Russell D. Rife age 73 of Prospect, died at Marion General Hospital on Tues. May 1, 2018.
He graduated from Linden McKinley High School in 1962. He was a US Army Veteran serving in Vietnam.
Mr. Rife was born Aug. 8, 1944 in Roseville to the late Phillip Olen and Helen Elizabeth (Nelson) Rife. On Aug. 7, 2004 he married Jessica Hicks, she survives in Prospect, also surviving are daughters Nancy Neil, Delaware, Dawn Wilson, Columbus, grandchildren Jimmy (Cara) Ayers, Jesse (Denise) Ayers, Amber Neil, Daniel Neil, Brian Neil, great grandsons Cameron Ayers, Jimmy Ayers, brothers Roland Bruce Rife, Robert Stephen Rife, Richard Eugene Rife and Randal Lee Rife.
Mr. Rife retired as chief maintenance engineer from Best Western, Columbus. He enjoyed doing crossword puzzles that ran in the New York Times.
Family will receive friends on Sat. May 5, 2018 from 12:00–1:30 p.m. at the Morral Methodist Church. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. following visitation with Pastor Sean McLeod officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Ohio Health Hospice, Marion.
