Rodney L. Pennington

Rodney L. Pennington, 65 of Galena passed away peacefully at his home from a long brave battle of pancreatic cancer on September 24, 2020.
Rodney was born on July 18, 1955 in Marion to the late Clarence and Freda (Eastham) Pennington . In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Clancy Pennington.
Rodney, is survived by his wife Cindy and his two daughters Julia (Brody) Smith of Marion and Annie (Lucas) Schertzer of Delaware; grandchildren Julien Ladd, Gracie DeGood, Bailey and Whitney Schertzer; and his niece Angie Pennington.
Rod retired this past July from the Marion County Job and Family Services where he was the child support Administrator. He graduated from Marion Harding H.S. in
1973, received his Associate Degree from Marion Technical College and his Bachelor's Degree from Spring Arbor College in Michigan. He taught college courses at Delaware JVS and the Marion technical college.
Rod enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a huge part of his grand kids lives and never missed a thing his grandchildren were involved in.
Family was everything to him. He loved vacationing at the beach and of course he loved the casino
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday October 3rd at 2:00 pm in The Woods, 1775 Marion Waldo Rd., Marion, OH at the outdoor shelter with Pastor Chuck Hedges officiating. Memorials may be made to the Capital City Hospice, 2800 Corporate Exchange Dr. #170, Columbus, OH 43231.
