Robert E. "Wooly" Woolensnider

Robert E. Woolensnider “Wooly”, age 87 of Marion, passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Presidential Center. Robert was born on October 2, 1931 in Galion to the late Daniel W. and Bessie L. (Reed) Woolensnider. He married Norma J. Hurrell on July 11, 1953, she resides in Marion. He is survived by four children, Terry (Karen) Woolensnider, Cindy (David) Gossard, Pam (Dave) Drake and Sue (Phil) Schreck, 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and a sister Beth Ann (Leonard) Pollock. He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Charles Woolensnider and three sisters Eileen Hayes, Betty Auck and Charlene Miller.

He retired from Peabody Galion where he worked in maintenance. He also spent a number of years on the Iberia Volunteer Fire Department.
He loved to bowl and golf, being on two leagues each. He was also a fan of Ohio State and the Cleveland Indians. He and his wife loved to travel, visiting all 49 states reachable by car.

The family will be accepting visitations at 10AM on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Salem Evangelical Church, 230 East Church Street, Marion with a Memorial Service, officiated by Pastor Adam Issler, immediately following at 11AM.

Because of the excellent care provided by both Presidential Center and Heartland Hospice, the family has asked that any memorial contribution be made to either of them.
