Robert (Bob) William Johnson Sr. passed away on Monday November 12, 2018 in Marion. He was born April 5, 1939 to the late Reverend John Johnson and Richardine (Spann) Johnson. He was the youngest of 7 children. He is proceeded in death by a brother, 2 sisters, grandson, and 2 brother-in-laws.
Robert leaves to cherish memories his children Roberta (Calvin) Thomas of Columbus, Oh, Rachel Johnson of Columbus, Oh, Robert Johnson II of Marion, Oh, 12 grandchildren: Chantel, Reginald, Sequoia, Jasmine, Georgia, Robert III(Brittany), Olivia, Aklyee, Erica, Cloie, SeQuoia, Ava, 5 Great Grandchildren: Justin, , Piper, Vivian, Armani, and Eisley. 4 sisters, Margery Lokey, Patricia Ackah, Lottie Bell Johnson, Lydia Kelly, 1 brother, John Johnson II, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A special thank you and much love to Suzetta, LuLu, and Brenda for all you have done for this family and Hospice of Columbus and Ohio Health Hospice of Marion for all of their care
Robert was a member of the George T. Cornish A/L Post 292, Captain William M. Slowe VFW Post 3090, VFW Post 6700, Military Order of Cooties Schuykill PUP Tent 65, W and M Social Activities, 82nd Aireborne Alumni Association, West High School alumni Associate, Former Block Captain of 60th Street.
Robert entered military service on November 6, 1959 and stayed a total of 6 years in the United States Army. He later went on to work as a contractor 10 years for the Department of the Navy. He traveled the world and enjoyed most of what he saw.
Memorial Service to be held at Christ Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday November 17, 2018 at 9am with pastor Cory Rogers officiating. Full military rites being conducted by Marion Veterans Honor Guard following the service. Affordable Cremation Services of Ohio were entrusted with the arrangements.
