Omer F. “Bud” Williams, 70 of Marion passed away on Wednesday June 3, 2020 at Marion General Hospital following a brief illness. Bud was born December 14, 1949 in Marion to the late Omer and Helen (Gingery) Williams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister Wanda Sandlin and brothers Don, Bill and Larry “Pick” Williams.
Bud was married June 6, 1969 to April (VanWey) Williams who survives along with 4 children. Shelley (Jamie) Carr of Florida, Sheri (Jack Wood) Williams of Marion, Michael Williams of Marion, and Angela Williams Dutton of Marion; 9 grandchildren Ashley and Chelsea Williams, who he raised like they were his daughters; Cortney Perkins, Brittany Pride, Tyler Carr, Jarrod Street, Kylie Williams, Jordan Dutton, and Makayla Dutton; 9 great grandchildren and 2 expected; brothers Phil (Janet) Williams of Marion, Dick (Pam) Williams of Prospect, and Mark (Sandi) Williams of Iberia; sisters Emma Jean Jackson of Marion and Linda Bilger of Galion; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Bud worked construction with C and H Construction as well as Decker Mobile Homes. He lived his entire life in Marion and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and target shooting.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday June 6, 2020 at 12 noon in the shelter of Richland Road Church of Christ with Rev. Russell Howard officiating.
