Nelda Irene Hinton

Nelda Irene Hinton, 94 of Marion passed away on Friday, July 22, 2022 at Marion General Hospital. Nelda was born May 2, 1928 in Toledo, OH to the late Pearl and Elizabeth (Lutz) Dolan. She graduated from Kenton High School in 1946. She married the love of her life , Victor Lee Hinton November 29, 1946. They shared 46 years together before he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her only son Michael as well as her sister Virginia, and brother Kenny.
Nelda is survived by her granddaughter Brandi (Brett McCrery) Hinton of Marion, a very special daughter-in-law Gwen (Ron) Salyer of Marion, and great grandchildren Owen and Brielle Stone.
Nelda worked for ITT (North Electric) in Kenton, Galion, Delaware, and Columbus before retiring in 1977. She lived most of her life in the Marion area and enjoyed activities at the Senior Center in Marion, the Marion YMCA , as well as playing bingo, line dancing, working jigsaw puzzles, and playing cards with her friends to name a few. She loved to travel and was able to take several trips that she greatly enjoyed. She loved to watch the Buckeyes and especially loved basketball. Of all of her activities, none were more special to her than attending the many sporting events of her great grandchildren. She was there to show her support regardless of the weather, rarely missing until her advanced age (and covid) proved more challenging .
