This past Thursday, Marion County lost an amazing member of its community. Ned Potts, a strong, ambitious father and grandfather of 87 moved on to greener pastures. Ned was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred D. Barnet, and father, Adrian L Potts. Ned is survived by his wife, Martha Potts; sisters, Natalia Howald, and Anna Lee Moffet ; son, Doug Potts; stepchildren, Becky (John) Bolt, Luann Huff, Connie (John) Falzone, Bonnie (Harold) Green, and Dick (Brandie) Fridley, two loving grandchildren, Kathleen Jo Potts and Rian Douglas Hamilton, as well as many step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. During his final days, Ned’s family remained at his side.
Ned was a colorful character that knew no obstacles. Even late in life, he remained diligent and faithful to his duties around the house and community such as mowing the lawn, feeding the cat, Bob, and visiting his good friends each morning at the local McDonald’s. With a sometimes colorful vocabulary, Ned always held the best intentions. He was head-strong and persistent. He was a lover of animals. Even in his last moments he managed smiles that showed his appreciation for the comfort and care we were able to provide him. He was truly an amazing grandfather and an all-around genuine person. Those memories make the loss easier to bear.
Rest In Peace, Grandpa. You will be sincerely missed. Ned is in the care of Affordable Cremation Services of Ohio. Moments of Remembrance may be left online atwww.cremationservicesofohio.com
