Mitchell Ryan Blake, age 30, of Savannah, Georgia (originally from Marion, Ohio), passed through Heaven’s gates Monday, January 8, 2024 surrounded by his loving family at Marion General Hospital. Mitch led an adventurous life, from coast to coast. Once he settled in Savannah, it became the place he loved the most. He was happy to share his Savannah stories and encourage others to visit his favorite place to call home.
Mitchell dedicated his life to acquiring knowledge through every possible means. He was a master of all trivia games and won singlehanded every time. Mitchell was passionate about the treatment of all animals, big and small, one in particular being his much beloved kitty, Louise. She was the center of his world and he doted on her like any father would. Mitch was also an advocate for the conservation and protection of the humble honey bee. He worked tirelessly to share the importance of bees and the joys and health benefits found in honey products. Mitch was overjoyed to find employment at the Savannah Bee Company where his knowledge of the bee community was extended. In addition to these endeavors, Mitchell enjoyed sharing his uniquely delightful sense of humor with friends and family and playing D&D with his friends.
Mitchell’s parents, Shane and Heather (Cook) King and Dave Blake, miss him greatly. Mitch is also survived by his siblings: Alex (Georgie) and Andy Blake, AJ (Katherine), Zach, and McKenzie King. He has one nephew, Arthur. Also mourning Mitchell are his grandparents: Oscar and Jean Clarkston, Patricia (and the late Robert) Arthur, Jim and Linda King.
Mitch is also missed by his Great-Aunt Nancy, Aunt Gail, Uncle David, Uncle Brian and Aunt Raquel, Uncle Bob and Aunt LeAnn, Uncle Jim and Aunt Lyndsey, as well as a multitude of cousins, extended family and friends.
Mitchell is joining his Uncle Matthew Cook; great-grandparents; his grandparents, Larry and Joyce Blake; and his favorite PBJ trio in Heaven.
Mitchell was a smart, caring, loving, quirky young man that was loved by family and friends. He touched so many lives and and will be greatly missed.
There will be no local services. A private wake will be held at a later date in the Savannah region. Memorial donations may be made to
