Michael Anders Zaler Sr.

Michael Anders Zaler Sr., 72 of Marion passed away on Tuesday April 5, 2016 at Marion General Hospital. Michael was born January 3, 1944 in Portsmouth to the late G.R. and Irene (Davis) Zaler. He was married April 22, 1971 to Patty L. (Manchester) Zaler who survives. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sons David Michael Zaler and Christopher Scott Zaler; grandchildren Michael III and Eric; one brother and one sister.
Michael is also survived by daughters Debbie Lynn Zaler and Mechelle “Missi” (Michael) Balzer; son Michael Anders Zaler Jr. and his wife Angel; grandchildren Nadine, Abby, Gavin, Amber, Matthew, Johnny, and James; as well as 5 great grandchildren.
Michael volunteered and helped others through his work as a drug and alcohol counselor. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Affordable Cremation Services of Ohio, 1701 Marion Willliamsport Road. is assisting the family with final arrangements.
