Melinda Ray (Pitman) Shepherd

Melinda Ray (Pitman) Shepherd, 51 of Marion went to be with the Lord on Wednesday March 29, 2017 at Riverside Hospital in Columbus, her death was unexpected. Melinda was born July 21, 1965 in Troy, OH to John and Norma (Spurgeon) Pitman who survive in Marion. She was married July 15, 1989 to U.S. Marine CPL Barry Shepherd who survives.
Melinda is also survived by two daughters Tiffney and Jonikka Shepherd; brother Scott Cain of Greenville, OH; two foster brothers Alex (Tho) and Diep Nguyen of Florida; Mike (Hoan) and Tweet Nguyen of Columbus, OH; two foster sisters Tony and Kim (Mau) Nguyen of Akron, OH and Mark and Sahar (Wiseman) Geyean; godparents Tilford and Dortha Conley. She will also be missed by her in-laws, nieces, nephews, and her furbabies Rimmy, Chloe, Brandy, and Dixie; Ozzie and Sasha.
Melinda loved life to the fullest as a homemaker. She enjoyed going to yard sales, spending time with the family; watching Disney movies and Criminal Minds, Big Bang, and Soap Operas. She will be missed by all that knew her.
Funeral Services will be held Sat. April 1, 2017 at 11:00AM in the Marion Enterprise Baptist Church with Pastor Jim McIntire officiating, burial will follow in Chapel Heights Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 9:00AM until the time of service.
