Mary Helen “Potts” Walter, 78 of Marion passed away on Sunday March 26, 2023. Mary was born April 21, 1944, in Marion to the late Robert Homer and Ida Mae (Newell) Potts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Robert, Raymond, and Carl Potts.
Mary is survived by daughter Catherine (Rick) Keeran; son Joel (April) Walter; grandchildren Lyndsi (Donald) Ahossin, Dakota Walter, and Jarrett Walter; great grandchildren Keeran, Elize, and Yannick Ahossin all of Marion; brother William (Margaret) Potts of Englewood, FL; sisters-in-law Velma and Diane Potts; and niece Linda (Marty) Cassidy as well as numerous other nieces and nephews.
Mary was a lifelong Marion resident and member of St. Mary Catholic Church. In her younger years, she liked spending time at the Eagles Lodge and being out among friends. In her later years, she was happy in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by her family. She enjoyed country music and watching TV.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, March 30th, 2023, at The Gathering Place Church, 1300 Mt. Vernon Ave. (in the Marion Plaza next to Save-A-lot) from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
