Marcus Allen Taylor age 67 of Marion died at his residence on May 22, 2018. He was born on March 12, 1951 in Chillicothe, OH to Oliver H. and Anne D. (Richardson) Taylor. He is survived by brothers Edward (Marsha) Taylor of Mt. Gilead, OH, David (Jane) Taylor of Lake View, AR, and sister Barbara (Philip) Holtzapple of Mansfield, OH.
After graduating from Mansfield Senior High School, Marcus received his Bachelor's degree in Journalism and English from The Ohio State University. He furthered his education at Xavier University with a Masters degree in Corrections and then received a Masters degree in Educational Technology from the University of Toledo.
Mr. Taylor retired from the Bureau of Corrections in 2012. After retirement he went back and taught at Marion Technical College and then retired. He also worked for Findlay College where he had set up a college prison for inmates at Lima Correctional. Mr. Taylor was a licensed radio amateur general class and a licensed weather spotter. For hobbies he enjoyed gardening, where he grew the best tomatoes, radio control airplanes, reading and computer work.
