Madalane Kirkman

Madalane Kirkman (Shelton), 65 of New Bloomington passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family after a brief battle with cancer on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at 3:36PM.
She was born August 14th, 1956 to Paul and Lois Shelton in Galion, Ohio. She went on to graduate from Northmore High School in 1974 and then immediately went on to college at the University of Akron from the School of Nursing. She graduated with her BSN in 1978 and went on to work over 40 years as a registered nurse taking care of thousands of patients over her tenure, her life passion. She worked at a variety of locations in Marion and Kenton including Marion General Hospital, Smith Clinic, Kenton General and Ohio Health Home Care before retiring in 2018. She had a great love for her church, Meeker United Methodist, where she served as the pianist for a number of years and in other administrative roles. She volunteered her time and energy over the years to various charitable organizations including The American Heart Association, Meals on Wheels, Girl Scouts of America and the local food pantry.
On January 1, 1978 she married Donald Kirkman, who survives, and eventually moved to Marion, Ohio to start a family. Together they had four children, and seven grandchildren, who all survive. Her children include Crystal Lynn (Zach Phillips) Kirkman of Delaware, Jason Michael (Melissa) Kirkman of Marion, Gregory Paul (Eric Reaume) of Indianapolis, Indiana and Danielle Marie (Brandon) Snyder of Waldo. Grand children include Jennifer Marie Foreman (18), Allyson Paige Kirkman (15), Katelyn Elisabeth Kirkman (13), Paul Michael Kirkman (10), Jakob Amir Phillips (5), Maks Michael Snyder (4) and Margo Marie Snyder (3).
Madalane is proceeded in death by her parents Paul and Lois, her beloved stepmother Idella, brothers William and Arnold, and grandson Jack.
Together with her family, a Celebration of Life in Madalane’s honor will be hosted at the Meeker Community Center at 6400 Harding Highway West, Marion, Ohio on Monday, June 6th at 4PM to 8PM.
