Lowell “Gene” Trimble, 78 of Marion was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 12, 2021 at Marion General Hospital, and surrounded by family. Gene was born August 7,1942 in West Van Lear, KY to the late Thurman and Mildred (Caudill) Trimble. He was married August 7, 1971 to Ann (Zyndorski) Trimble who survives and has enjoyed the past 49 1/2 years of wedded bliss. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, George William “Oral”, Ron, Carroll “Shorty”, Howard, and Alvin Trimble.
Gene is also survived by children Kevin (Linda Welch) Trimble of Columbus, Rob (Debbie) Trimble of Mt. Gilead, Deb Vanderboegh of TN, Kenny (Kay) Chitwood of TN, and Wayne (Jill) Chitwood of Marion; grandchildren Shelby, Zac, Shawn, Eric, Christopher, Patrick, Kelly, Rick, and Kyle; great-grandchildren Chloe, Mason, Kaylynne, Jase, Nick, Caleb, and Levi; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Gene graduated from Elm Valley High School in 1960 where he excelled in trampoline. He worked for the Erie Lackawanna Railroad for 10 years followed by 25 years at Whirlpool as a Security and Safety Supervisor, and working the last 10 years for Marion General Hospital Security. Gene enjoyed woodworking, playing golf, and was also a diehard Ohio State Buckeye and Cleveland Browns fan. Gene was a member of the CPAAA and the FOPA of Marion.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at 6:00 pm in the Peace Community United Church of Christ with Pastor Joel Fetter officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 4:00 pm until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Peace Community United Church of Christ or Marion General Hospice.
