Louisa D. Stewart

Louisa D. “Dockie” Stewart age 82 of Galion, died Mon. Jan. 7, 2019 at Signature Health Care of Galion. She was born on May 3, 1936 in Wayne, WV to the late Jennings F. and Mary Elizabeth (Smith) Noble.

She married E. Eugene Stewart on July 11, 1953 and they celebrated 65 years of marriage, he survives in Galion. She is also survived by three sons Thomas Stewart, Galion, Larry (Cristine) Stewart, Bucyrus, Christopher (Tammy) Stewart, Galion, 6 grandchildren Michelle Stewart, Billie (Scott) Maglott, Mary (Ryan) Mowry, Cassandra (Jason) Price, Taylor Stewart, Katelyn Stewart, 6 great grandchildren, a brother-in-law Albert “Buck” (Theresa) Stewart, Findlay, many other friends and family, especially her church families, and her faithful companion “Peanut”. She is preceded in death by a grandchild Kevin Stewart, 3 sisters, 5 brothers, and 2 infant siblings.

Mrs. Stewart was a founding member of Freedom Fellowship Church and long time member of Bucyrus Freewill Baptist Church. She had worked as a hostess for Cardinal Vending in Mansfield and Marion, and was a bookkeeper for their former family business, Cottonwood Pallet. She enjoyed singing gospel music with her family the Stewart Family Gospel Music Group.

A funeral service will be held Sat. Jan. 12, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. in Bucyrus Freewill Baptist Church 1676 Hopley Ave. Bucyrus, OH 44820 with Pastor Paul Staton and Assistant Pastor Jeffrey Parsons officiating. Interment will follow in Iberia Cemetery. Visitation will be held Fri. Jan. 11, 2019 from 5-8:00 p.m. at the church.
