Linda Gail (Bostic) Putnam, 70, of Bucyrus passed away on August 20, 2020 in the Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital. Linda was born on September 3, 1949 in Pageton, West Virginia to the late Floyd James and Dora (Dye) Bostic. On May 27, 1974 she married Earnest Jasper Putnam Jr. who preceded her in death.
Linda is survived by her children, Melissa Brumbaugh of Hillard, Ohio, Terry (Stephanie) Perkins of Bucyrus, Earnest J. (EJ) (Lorie) Putnam III of Shelby and her stepson David (Petra) Putnam of Johnstown, Ohio, and her eight grandchildren, Montana, Titus, Megan, Colton, Anthony, Jacob, Aaden, and Baylee. She is also survived by her Brother, James Bostic of Maryland; Her sisters, Lois (Gaye) Dye of Bucyrus, and Debra (Barry) Taylor of Virginia; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her siblings, Vester (Red) Bostic, Phyllis Whited, Donald Bostic, Janice Miller, and Bobby Bostic; Her step son, Kenneth Putnam.
She came to Bucyrus in 1967 and over the years worked at various places. She worked for Suburban Lanes, The Mad Bull Lounge, Volunteers of America, Autumnwood Nursing Home, Sunny Villa Nursing Home, and Oakwood Nursing Home. She loved working with the elderly and disabled and treated them all like family. She enjoyed making and painting ceramics and doing crafts. She poured many molds and fired them in her home kiln. She would spend hours painting them and showing others the joy of ceramics. She would on many holidays invite the nieces and nephews over for an overnight stay where she would make many crafts with them. As she grew older, her faith in the Lord grew stronger. she enjoyed getting involved in many of the activities at VITM and worshiping the Lord. She was a member of Victory in Truth Ministries.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 24, 2020 at 7 PM at Victory in Truth Ministries, 485 State Route 4, Bucyrus, Ohio 44820 with Pastor JC Church and Pastor Barry Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-3 and 5-7. A time of Fellowship and a light meal will follow immediately after the services in the church fellowship hall. At Linda’s request, she asked for memorial contributions to be given in her memory to New Day Ministries Food Pantry or VITM Building Fund.
