Kenneth Eugene Mast

Kenneth Eugene Mast, age 92 of Galion, OH passed away August 17, 2023, at home. He was born July 22, 1931, to the late Raymond Mast and Sarah Bush Mast in Lancaster, OH. Ken was married to Ruth Ann Higgins for 61 years.
Ken is survived by his wife, children: Lauren (Steve) Mason of CA, Monte (Karen) Mast of TX, Megan Mast of Ohio, and Murray (Michele) Mast of IN, grandchildren: Lindsey (David) Mason of CA and Garrett (Julianne) Mast of TX. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Ken graduated from Lancaster High School and served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, thereafter, earning degrees in Psychology and an MBA from OSU, along with a Doctorate degree in business administration from Kent St. University. He worked at Firestone and General Tire, followed by a long career at the University of Akron teaching Marketing. He eventually became the Associate Dean of the College of Business there.
Ken was interested in reuniting with his fellow servicemen and attended Air Force reunions at the Sampson Air Force Base and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. In 2014, he participated in an honor flight to Washington DC. Ken was an avid reader of military history, faithfully followed Ohio sports, and loved chocolate.
