Karen J. Vanderwerf, 63 of Kenton passed away on Tuesday October 9, 2018 at Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay. Karen was born July 27, 1955 in Kenton to the late Darrell L. Brandyberry and Carol Ann (McKee) Conover. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step father Robert E. Conover; brother Robert L. Conover; and sister Charlene Brandyberry.
Karen is survived by son Christopher (Katie) Rahrig of Ostrander, OH; daughter Angelia K. Critchfield of Kenton OH; grandchildren Ella and Delaney Rahrig, Conner Snowden, Chloe J. Snowden, and Caleb Critchfield; sisters Camella (Dave) Hemmerly of Kenton OH; Tina (Jim) Weber of Mt. Blanchard, OH; and Judy (Jim) Fleece of Carey OH; brothers Bradley (Lisa) Conover and Timothy (Nancy) Conover both of Forest OH; Bob Brandyberry and Kris Brandyberry both of California; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Karen graduated from Riverdale High School in 1973 and worked for the City of Kenton for 18+ years first in the Water and Sewer Department and then as the Income Tax Administrator. Karen served on the Upper Scioto Valley School Board from 1993-1997 and also was affiliated with the Heartbeat of Hardin County.
Karen will be dearly missed by her family and friends, she had a strong heart and always put others before herself. A memorial service will be held Saturday October 27, 2018 at 10:30am at Blanchard River Church of Christ, Dunkirk, OH. Memorials may be made to the Bridge Hospice, 1900 S. Main St., Findlay, OH 45840. Affordable Cremation Services of Ohio, Marion, is assisting the family with arrangements.
