Johnny J. Kerns

Johnny J. Kerns age 83 of Marion died Fri. April 20, 2018 at his residence. He was born on May 28, 1934 in West Virginia to the late Dayton and Maudie (Ropper) Kerns. He was raised by his step father George Long who survives in Marion. He married Marilyn L. Parks on Oct. 30, 1954 and she died Dec. 16, 2017.

He is survived by a son Gary Kerns, Marion, 3 daughters Patricia (Michael) Phillippi, Marion, Cheryl (Michael) Shenefield, Marion, Brenda (Charles) Howard, Oak Hill, 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son David Kerns.

Mr. Kerns was employed by Marion Power Shovel as an injection molder for over 35 years. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, and his dog, Snickers.
