John H Larkin

John H. Larkin, 61 of Marion passed away on Monday, January 16, 2023 at Marion General Hospital following a very brief illness. John was born August 21, 1961 in Marion to the late Myron and Sophia (DeGroat) Larkin. He married the love of his life Marilyn (Uplinger) Larkin on November 14, 1982. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by brothers Dean Miller and Myron Larkin Jr.

John is survived by his wife Marilyn, children Margaret “Meg” (Nicholas) Larkin-Downing of Clyde and John (Heather) Larkin of Marion; grandchildren Jackson Larkin and Oliver Downing; brothers Steven Larkin of Marion and Melvin (Lisa) Miller of Florida; sister Jo Ellen (Jerry) Gilliam of Port Clinton; Brothers-in-law Rick Uplinger and Mike (Cathy) Uplinger, as well as many nieces and nephews. John will also be missed by many friends who became like family.

John graduated from Marion Harding High School in 1981. He retired in 2019 from North Central Correctional as an auto body technician instructor. Previously, he taught auto body at Tri-Rivers Career Center. John was active in the Marion Popcorn Festival for 10 years and was a founding member of both the Kountry Toyz and Asphalt Angels Car Clubs.
