John S Joyce

It is with profound sorrow that the family announces the unexpected death of John S. Joyce "J.J.", 57, on January 30, 2024. He was born December 16, 1966 in Columbus, Ohio to Greg S.Joyce and Jackie L. (Reynolds) Dever. John graduated from Franklin Heights in Columbus, Ohio, and attended The Ohio State University. John retired from the Honda Manufacturing Plant after 25 years of service. He is preceded in death by his parents, paternal grandparents Scott and Ruth Joyce of Columbus, Ohio, maternal grandparents John and Mary Reynolds of Columbus, Ohio, Uncle Mike Joyce of Columbus, Ohio, and Cousin Mandy Reynolds of Columbus, Ohio.

He is survived by wife of 19 years Amanda Joyce Webb, daughter Erin Lynn Joyce of Myrtle Beach, SC, sons Blake Bates of Marion, Ohio, Kirkland Bates of Marion, Ohio, grandson Royal Bates of Marion, Ohio, nieces Brianna O'Dell of Marion, Ohio, Angelique Hill of Marion, Ohio, significant other for the last 5 years Tammy Simpkins, Brother Greg (Christa) Joyce and their children Michael and Ava of Shepardstown, WV, Brother-In-Law Dwayne (Gerald) O’Dell of Adrian, MI, Sister-In-Law Raziah Davis of Marion, Ohio, Aunt Cheryl (Gene) DeLong of Grove City, Ohio, and special friends Martin (Dawn) Stewart, Jimmy (Crystal) McVey, Dode McVey, Heidi Reeder Quelette, Dave Downs, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Services will be held at Marion Enterprise Baptist Church at 130 Orton St., Marion, Ohio on Friday, February 9, 2024. Viewing will be held from 12-2 p.m. with services to follow at 2 p.m.
