John Flournoy III

John H. Flournoy III, age 56 of Marion, OH entered into eternal rest on March 18, 2025. He was born October 20, 1968, in Marion to LaDonna J. (Cousin) Harris and the late John H. (Skinny) Flournoy Jr.

Johnnie was a beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend who touched the lives of many. He lived by his own uplifting philosophy, often saying, “I am living LIFE on my own terms.” His adventurous spirit led him to pursue new experiences with enthusiasm—never hesitating to grab his backpack and set off on a journey to explore new possibilities.

He had a deep passion for cultivating and nurturing flowers and plants, which brought him great fulfillment. His love for horticulture was reflected when he once worked at Mr. Bees Flowers and Gifts located in Marion. Before returning to Marion from Cleveland, he worked in various roles as a front-line cook. No matter where life took him, Johnnie remained dedicated to helping others. Whether assisting someone with a move or landscaping a yard with beautiful flowers, he always made himself available as a way of expressing his unwavering love and generosity.

Johnnie is survived by his mother, LaDonna (Willie) Harris of Marion; his sister Zenomia (William) Troutman, of Marion; his brother Jermaine Flournoy; niece Zharia (Isaiah Jackson) Troutman of Columbus; nephew Shauntez Troutman of Pinole, California; and great-nephew Isaiah Jackson Jr., with a host of extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his Father and best Friend John H (Skinny) Flournoy, his maternal grandparents Theodore & Kathryn (Morgan) Cousin and his paternal grandparents John & Lottie (Bell) Flournoy and a host of Aunts and Uncles.

The Celebration of Life will be held at Mayes Community Temple on Friday, March 28th 2025 at 11:00 am.

Johnnie’s kindness, adventurous nature, and generous heart will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him.
