Joey F Owens

Joey Frank Owens, 84 of Mt. Gilead, OH  passed away on Friday March 7, 2025, at Marion General Hospital following a brief illness. Joey was born August 20, 1940, in Columbus, OH to the late Joseph H. and Vernetta (Williams) Owens. He was married August 30, 1958, to Constance (Rockhold) Owens who survives. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Richard and David, as well as infant sister Judy. Joey is also survived by children Debra (William) Scott, Cindy Jo (Charlie) Rutherford, Tina K. (Jim) Harboldt, and Joey F. (Semone) Owens Jr.; 12 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; brothers George (Shelly) Owens and James (Linda) Owens; sisters Jeanette (Bill) Wallace and Sherry (Larry) Tibbetts; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. 

Joey lived in Ohio his entire life and worked for FMC as a machinist in Columbus prior to working at Worthington Industries where he retired from in 2002. He enjoyed restoring many older classic cars and attending car shows. Joey spent time outside sitting in the sun, enjoying the outdoors, and being with his dog “Buffy”.
