Jamie Marie Carter

Jamie Marie Carter, 43 of Marion, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 5th, 2025, at Marion General Hospital. Jamie was born on March 16th, 1981, in Richmond, California to the late James Preston Carter & Loudella Fleming. 

Jamie is proceeded in death by her Mother; Loudella Fleming, Father; James Preston Carter, Grandparents Norman & RubyLee (Pittman) Fleming. 

Jamie is survived by her Son Tyron J. Pickens of Marion, OH; Brother Isaiah L. Fleming of Columbus, OH; Sister Yarnell D. Brooks of Marion, OH; Niece & Nephew Yamiya and Aaron Brooks; Great-Niece and Nephew Ikeir’ and Onyx; Aunts Wanda Singh and Angela Edmonds of Marion, OH; Uncles Gary Fleming and Larry Fleming, of Marion, OH; Great Uncle Herman (Arnita) Pittman. Jamie also leaves to cherish her memory a host of cousins & friends.

Jamie graduated from Marion Harding High School in 1999, and continued her professional career in Home Health Care. Jamie enjoyed being able to help, she remained in this field for over 13+ Years. Jamie was a loving and caring individual, often referred to as “Carter Girl”. She truly enjoyed being a mother, and outside of work and parenthood, Jamie would spend time with her friends & family. She loved dressing-up, dancing, new adventures, and she often enjoyed a good book. Jamie had a sparking personality, that would often place smiles on her family & friends faces, or emit laughter in the air, she truly embodied the definition of ‘Charisma’. 

Jamie became a member of Mayes Community Temple, at the early-age of 6 years old, where she was baptized, and would also take part in the Children’s Choir & Sunday School.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 13th, 2025, at Mayes Community Temple located at 801 Bennett Street, Marion, Ohio, 43302, at 12:00 Noon. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. A burial will follow at the Grand Prairie Cemetery, located at 4964 Brush Ridge Dr. N, Marion, Ohio 43302. Pastor Elder Shawn Jackson will be officiating services. The repass will follow at The Knights of Columbus1222 E. Center Street following the burial.
