James “Jim” Kyle Meadows, 76 years old of Marion, Ohio passed away at his residence on June 3rd, after a long hard-fought battle with cancer.
Jim was born on June 8th, 1947, in Fayette County, WV and is preceded in death by his parents, Haskel and Anna “Tootie” Meador, and his brother, Edward Ramsey.
Jim was married on November 27th, 1969, to his beautiful wife of 54 years, Dianna L. Meadows.
After being drafted into the Army in 1966 and proudly serving as an Explosive Ordinance Technician during Vietnam, Jim attended Marion Technical College where he earned a degree in electrical engineering.
Upon returning from military service, Jim and Dianna settled in Marion, Ohio where he worked at Tecumseh Products, as Payroll and Data Processing Manager for 18 years. When Tecumseh left Marion, Jim, not wanting to relocate his family, returned to military service as a recruiter for the Army National Guard. He eventually retired from military service in 2009. Jim grew bored of retirement and returned to work where he started his third career before finally settling down for good from Cardington Yutaka Technologies in July of 2016.
Jim always enjoyed working in his yard and making home improvements; however, his two greatest loves were his family and his beloved dog, Roxi. Jim was a proud husband and father but an even prouder grandfather. His grandchildren and Roxi were the pride of his life, and he never missed an opportunity to boast about them, usually in an exaggerated way. He will be remembered for his constant sense of humor in any situation and love of history trivia with his grandchildren. Jim was always the life and foundation of the family and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Outside his loving wife, Dianna Meadows, Jim is survived by his two sons: Shawn Meadows -Delaware, Ohio; Duane Meadows (Kelli Farley)- of Caledonia, Ohio. His five grandchildren: Lakelynd Meadows - Marion, Ohio; Layne Meadows (Rachel Stillions) - Caledonia, Ohio; Avery Meadows (Sydney Ross) - Powell, Ohio; Peyton Meadows (Patrick Ravi) - Hilliard, Ohio and Collin Meadows - Delaware, Ohio. His one great grandchild: Kayne Meadows - Caledonia, Ohio. Jim is also survived by three sisters: Eva Legg – Ramsey, WV; Barbara Nichols (David Nichols) - Green Camp, Ohio; and Sharon Meador – Ramsey, WV.
Respecting Jim’s wishes, no funeral or calling hours will be observed.
