Jacqueline “Jackie” Ann Straub, age 65 of Caledonia, OH passed away peacefully at home holding her daughter’s hand on April 2, 2023, after a brief battle with cancer. She was born May 26, 1957, to Shirley (Medley) Baer and the late Jack Baer in Marion, OH. She was married to David Straub who survives in Caledonia.
In addition to her mother and her husband, Jackie is survived by her son Adam (Crystal) Rodgers, daughter Sarah (Anthony) Scarberry, 5 grandchildren: Gavin Berridge, Makyha & Havyn Rodgers, and Isabella & Dakota Scarberry, sister Denise (Mike) Smith, and brother Dennis (Valerie) Baer. She was preceded in death by her father. She was beyond proud of her children and grandchildren and considered them to be her greatest accomplishments in life.
Jackie was a 1975 graduate of River Valley High School. After graduating, she worked as the manager of Taco Bell for several years. She recently retired from Graphic Packaging after 34 years where she had worked in customer service, then as the HR Coordinator. She enjoyed photography and animals. Jackie loved spending time with family, and she had a gift of making everyone around her feel special and loved. She always gave the best hugs and will be dearly missed by all that knew her.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday April 23, 2023, from 12-4 pm at the Steve Young Memorial Lodge 24, 5327 Harding Hwy. E, Caledonia, OH 43314. Memorial Contributions can be made to Homeless to Home Animal Rescue and Cat Sanctuary of Marion County. Guests are encouraged to bring a pet food/pet supply item to her Celebration of Life where all items collected will be donated to the rescue in her honor.
