Jack M. Williams, 83, of Marion passed away on Wednesday January 25, 2017, at Heartland of Marion. Jack was born Oct. 23, 1933, in Kenton to the late LeVerne “Casey” and Gladys (Amweg) Williams. He was married Feb. 2, 1973, to Marilyn (Axline) Williams, who survives. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by step-daughter Rosemary Williams.
Jack is also survived by daughters Wendi Williams of Marion and Lisa (Scott) Thompson of Ocala, FL; step-children Mike Eiseman, Christina Chevalier, and Linda Thacker, all of Marion; step-grandchildren Robert Williams and Rachel (Joshua Hoskins) Thacker as well as her children Tristen and Alexis Hoskins.
Jack lived most of his life in Marion and graduated from Marion Harding H.S. in 1951. Jack first worked at Probst Supply following High School and then owned and operated Mini Motors in Marion. Over the years, Jack worked for several area Car Dealerships. He drove a Pepsi Route for some time and for a short period owned the O.K. Café in Marion. Jack last worked with his wife Marilyn in the Head Shop and Body Shop, a beauty salon and tanning facility, which they owned in Marion.
For many years, Jack raced cars at Mid Ohio and won many trophies. He was a member of the Mid Ohio Sports Car Club and one of his fondest memories was going to Europe in 1971 with the group. He was also a member of the Air National Guard for eight years. He very much enjoyed watching racing on T.V. and was also a very big Ohio State Buckeye Fan.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2017, at 2:30 pm in the Mt. Vernon Ave. Church of Christ, 947 Mt. Vernon Ave. with Jeff Bush, Minister, officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 pm until the time of service. Memorials may be made in the form of contributions to the Marion Humane Society or the donor’s choice and expressions of sympathy can be left at
