Jack Benny Honaker

Jack Benny Honaker Sr, age 84, passed away at home September 19, 2023, surrounded by family. Jack was born to the late James Wesley and Sally (Conley) Honaker April 10, 1939, in Marion Ohio. Jack is preceded in death by his parents, wife Evelyn Adams Honaker, son Jack Honaker Jr., daughter Regina Geyer, brothers: Homer, Raymond, George, Wesley, Jerry, and Howard, sisters: Mary Jones, Ellen Hartle, and Shirley Seckel.
Jack is survived by children: Peggy Kohler and Rick Honaker, brother Terry, 10 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.
Jack retired from Marion County as a heavy equipment operator. He had owned and operated a grocery store here in Marion where he served as a Butcher. It was called Jacks Meat Market. He was a member of the Legion of Waldo and former member of the Eagles Club. He volunteered and ran concessions at the Marion Coliseum. Jack enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping in his younger years. He also would go to flea markets and auctions. He had fun playing slots, poker, and the lottery. Jack was an avid coin collector and did wood working in his garage.
Family will conduct a burial of ashes at Pleasant Hill Cemetery Sunday October 8, 2023, at 1 pm. Family may gather at American Legion 162 at 2 pm for dinner. Memorials may be made to the Ohio Health Hospice.
