Irene Montero age 71 of Marion died Wed. July 19, 2017 at her residence. She was born June 28, 1946 in Ponce, Puerto Rico to the late Antonio & Dalila (Rodriguez) Montero.
Ms. Montero is survived a son Reinaldo “Ray” Montanez, Marion, 2 daughters Erica Hunt, Marion, Yvette Martinez, Columbus, 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, and a sister. She was preceded in death by a brother.
She graduated from Cathedral High School in New York. Upon graduation, she attended Adelphi University in New York where she obtained an Associate's Degree. Ms. Montero was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses in Marion. She retired after 38 years as a teacher from Head Start in Marion.
Ms. Montero was a loving and caring person who enjoyed teaching and taking care of children, jigsaw puzzles, playing cards, and bingo.
Arrangements were entrusted with Affordable Cremation Services of Ohio. Donations in Irene's name can be made to Affordable Cremation Services of Ohio 1701 Marion Williamsport Road East, Marion, OH 43302.
