Herbert Dennison Oney Sr.

Herbert Dennison Oney Sr., age 74 of Marion, Ohio passed away August 3, 2022, at his home in Marion. He was born August 7, 1947, to the late Charles Woodrow Oney and Orletta Betty Caster in McArthur, Ohio. Herbert married Joyce Miller Oney and they were together for 43 years.

Herbert is survived by his wife, his children: Denise Oney, Herbert Oney Jr., Betty Ann (Randy) Terrazas, Shawn Miller, Jason W (Christina) Oney, and Orletta (Jeremy) Plotner, 16 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, a twin-brother Charles T. Oney, and 2 sisters Wanda Owens, and Cindy Oliver. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers Roger Lee Oney, Richard Scott Oney, Joey Oney, and 1 sister Linda Keating.

Herbert was a Veteran and was Honorably discharged from the United States Army. He worked as a crane operator for Marion Shovel, and he also worked as a restorian for a private investor. Herbert enjoyed fishing, spending time with their Pit Bull “Tiggs”, and liked the occasional family get together.

A Memorial Service is planned for Friday, August 12, 2022, from 4-5 pm at Marion Enterprise Baptist Church, 130 Orton St. Marion, Ohio 43302. Memorial contributions can be made on Herbert’s behalf to his wife Joyce Miller Oney. Affordable Cremation Services of Ohio was honored to make arrangements for Herbert’s family.
