Herbert Gary McIntire

Herbert Gary McIntire, 64 of Marion passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at Marion General Hospital surrounded by his family and loved ones. Gary was born August 2, 1955 in Marion to the late Herbert Joy and Ada Catherine (Smith) McIntire. He was married April 4, 1973 to Tammy Lynn (Bice) McIntire who survives. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Thomas E. McIntire; brother in law James Arnett; father in law Roy A. Bice; nephew Bradley Morrison; and a very dear friend Lloyd Sizemore.

Gary is also survived by his children Gary E. McIntire, Tina (Terry) Barlow, and Michelle (Matthew) Smith all of Marion; grandchildren Matthew (Alexandria) Schaber, Joshua (Emily Bash) Schaber, Jordyn (Raymond Raimo) McIntire, Makayla Joy Barlow, Scott Smith, Austin Smith, and Danielle Smith; step grandchildren Josh Barlow and Tori Barlow, great grandchildren Avianna, Zayden, Kylen, and Ronan Schaber; and Enslee Jade Raimo. He is also expecting two additional great grandchildren in 2020; Gary’s siblings include Pastor James (Kay) McIntire, Michael (Tamara) McIntire, Linda Arnett, and Shirley (Bill) Harper all of Marion; mother in law Laura Johnson of Marion; brother in laws Tom (Sharon) Bice, Tim (Pam) Bice and sister in law Terri (Richard) Dawley. He is also survived by two aunt's Ella Howard and Donna Osche, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

Gary worked at Marion Power Shovel and retired in 1997 from Todco Overhead Door. He lived his entire life in Marion and was a member of Marion Enterprise Baptist Church. Gary enjoyed NASCAR, watching football with his son, fishing outings with his family and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Marion Enterprise Baptist Church with Pastors James McInitre and Corey Carroll officiating; Burial to follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Church on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Expressions of sympathy can be left at www.cremationservicesofohio.com .
