Herbert G. Baker Sr. age 74 of Marion went to heaven Thurs. February 1, 2018 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus. He was born March 8, 1943 in Marion to the late Robert A. & Mildred (Graybill) Baker. He married Gloria “Jeannie” Simmons on October 1, 1962 and she survives in Marion.
He is survived by his children Herbert (Amy James) Baker Jr., Upper Sandusky, Shawna (Jamie) Rank, Harpster, Wendy (Jeff) Fox, New Bloomington, Troy (Shelly Alexander) Baker, Morral, 8 grandchildren Kyle Witten, Kari Baker, Heather (Nick) Johnson, Brittany (Joel) Hause, Bailey Fox, Emily Alexander, J.J Alexander, Kylee Baker, 9 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter Kasi Baker, 2 brothers, and 4 sisters.
Mr. Baker was a member of Lee Street Presbyterian Church. He retired in 2002 from Eaton & Dana Corp. after 20 years, where he was a member of their Industrial Club. He served in the Lions Club in Morral. Mr. Baker was a member of Eagles, Moose both of Marion, NRA, Pheasants Forever, and an honorary and life time member of Ridgedale FFA. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, horseback riding, camping, bowling, snowmobiling, motorcycle riding, playing cards, golfing, watching his grandchildren at the fair, and spending time with his family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM Sat. February 10, 2018 at Lee Street Presbyterian Church 455 Lee St. Marion with Rev. Scott Schnapp officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM Fri. February 9, 2018 and 11-12 PM on Sat. February 10, 2018 at the church.
