Gregory Michael Burns, born on September 17, 1959, passed away on February 2, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and cherished memories.

Greg graduated from Harding High School in 1977 and then proudly served in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Germany, demonstrating his commitment to his country with honor and integrity.

It was through the Marion Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps that Greg met the love of his life, Rachel. Their love story spanned 39 beautiful years of marriage, filled with unwavering devotion, laughter, and an unbreakable bond. They were inseparable, sharing every moment together in a life full of love and companionship.

Greg is survived by his loving wife, Rachel; his daughter, Meaghen (Phil) Cornell; his son, Jake (Kelby) Fitch Burns; his sister, Cindy Wilson; his brother, Monty (Amy) Burns; his sister, Tracy Lange; and his adored grandchildren: Christian, Dillon, Ellianna, Detryk, Elana, Emmerson, Porter, and Pratt. His grandchildren were his world, and he found immense joy in watching them grow and celebrating every milestone with them. He also leaves behind his cherished pets, Gracie and Cali, who brought him so much happiness.

Greg was preceded in passing by his father, Frank Burns; his mother, Donna Burns; and his brother, Terry Burns.

An avid sports fan, Greg was deeply passionate about his Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Guardians, Ohio State Buckeyes, and, of course, Pleasant Spartans. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, February 7th from 2:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. at MarionNaz Church. In his honor, the family invites all who attend to wear their favorite sports team apparel even if that means donning Steelers or Ravens gear, as Greg would have appreciated the camaraderie above rivalry.

In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting donations to Venmo @gregoryburns1978 to bestow upon his eight grandchildren at a later date.

Greg’s presence will be deeply missed, but his love, laughter, and the memories he created will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
