Gerald Wayne Pfeifer

Gerald Wayne Pfeifer, age 86, passed away May 20, 2022 at home surrounded by family. Wayne was born to the late Cecil Pfeifer and Ida (Bonner)( Pfeifer) Key December 25, 1935 in Mt Gilead Ohio. Wayne married Dorothy Janice (Coriell)Pfeifer December 2 ,1954 in Bartow Florida at the Church of Christ. Wayne is preceded in death by his parents and daughter Diana Pfeifer-Watson.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 67 years, Dorothy Janice Pfeifer; son, Kevin (Lucinda) Pfeifer; grandchildren, Jason Brent Cherrington, Stephanie Pfeifer, and Avery Pfeifer; great-grandson, Jason Wayne Cherrington.

Wayne was a 1954 graduate of Edison High School . After high school he went on to farm and owned a timber business. .In 1966 Wayne became an Engineer with Erie Lackawnna until 1976 then started his construction business until 2000. Wayne was very proud to participate in the Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program in which he planted approximately 15,000 trees .

Wayne was a member of the Richland Road Church of Christ in Marion. Wayne and Janice were considered "snowbirds" as they would spend every winter in Florida.

There will be no services planned at this time. Burial will follow at a later date at Worden Cemetery.
