Gerald L. Ortman

Gerald Lee Ortman age 66 of Marion died at his residence on Feb. 11, 2021. He was born on Oct. 6, 1954 in Washington DC to the late John Henry and Betty (Carter) Ortman. He married Barbara Bowen on June 22, 1995, she survives in Marion along with daughters Jessica (Richard) Loving and Loni (Daniel Fowler) Howlett both of Marion, 7 grandchildren Ashley (Carl) Shoup, Johnathan Howlett, Renee (Dave) Focht, Lisa (Kenneth) Barker, C.J. Rivers IV, Garland (Nikki) Loving, Gerald Loving and 10 great grandchildren, a brother Dan (Joyce) Ortman, Virginia Beach, VA and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mr. Ortman was an United States Army Veteran and a telecommunications coordinator for Verizon Wireless and never missed a day of work. He was a scout leader, enjoyed playing cards especially Rummy and watching Jeopardy. Gerald's grandchildren where the apple of his eye. He was very loving and kind to all, and was the rock of his family.
