Gerald Dean Lyman, age 45, passed away unexpectedly May 9, 2023. Gerald was born to Rodney Lyman and Susan “Yarber” Laywell Lyman, May 1, 1978 in Orange County, California. Gerald is preceded in death by his father, Rodney Lyman.
Gerald is survived by wife, Rebecca “Friend” Lyman; children, Haley Lyman, Hannah Lyman, and Rodney Lyman; bonus children, Cory Hildreth, Alexandria (Aaron) Langhorne, Brianna Hildreth, Brody Wood, and Tyler Wood; sister, Christina (Todd) Nye; his best furry friend, Scout.
Gerald was always active, often found outdoors on one of his many projects. A man known as a Jack of all Trades and Toys. He had a successful career as a carpenter and was proud to work for Elford, Inc. as a superintendent and a member of the Carpenters Local 200. His love for the outdoors included boating, camping, snowmobiling, and riding his motorcycle. He was very particular about his grass, specifically his lines that can be seen miles away. His most recent passion was chainsaws and farming his own land.
Gerald was always there to help his family and friends with any project they needed. He was often found in his back garage with friends, making memories they all will hold onto. A man of many words; “get some” will forever be a phrase those closest to him will remember fondly. Gerald loved to throw a good country party, surrounded by family and friends who became family. Gerald and Rebecca had many conversations about how blessed they are to have such a great, supportive, and TRUE friends.
Gerald cherished each person in his life but the love and adoration he held for HIS Becca was one for the fairytale books. Their love was palpable.
Those left behind will cherish GDL memories; Lyman Land, sleeveless shirts, crazy adventures, bandanas, "Lyman Hardware” and a fridge full of cold beverages will never be the same.
There will be a private celebration of life at a later date. Moments of remembrance may be left online at
