E. Eugene Stewart

E. Eugene Stewart age 81, of Galion died at Riverside Methodist Hospital on Tue. Dec. 24, 2019. He was born Jan. 30, 1938 in Greenup, KY to the late Albert and Garnett (Seagraves) Stewart and he was raised by his father and Evelyn A. (Boggs) Stewart.

He married Louisa D. “Dockie” Noble on July 11, 1953, she preceded him in death on Jan. 7, 2019. Mr. Stewart is survived by sons Thomas Stewart and Christopher (Tammy)
Stewart, both of Galion, a daughter-in-law Cristine Stewart, Bucyrus, grandchildren Michelle Stewart, Billie (Scott) Maglott, Mary (Ryan) Mowry, Cassandra (Jason) Price, Taylor Stewart, Katelyn Stewart, 6 great grandchildren, a brother Albert “Buck” (Theresa) Stewart, Findlay, a sister Marguerite Morgan, Springfield, many other friends and family, especially his church families, and his faithful companion “Peanut.” He is preceded in death by a son Larry Stewart, a grandchild Kevin Stewart, a brother and 3 sisters.

Mr. Stewart was a founding member of Freedom Fellowship Church and long time member of Bucyrus Freewill Baptist Church. He was employed by Lifetouch Church Directories, Galion. He was the owner/operator of Cottonwood Pallet, Galion and worked for Cardinal Vending of Mansfield and Marion. Mr. Stewart recorded several records in Nashville, TN and signed with Star Day and Stop Records. He enjoyed singing gospel music with his family, The Stewart Family Gospel Music Group.

A funeral service will be held on Fri. Jan. 3, 2020 at 10:30AM in the Bucyrus Freewill Baptist Church 1676 Hopley Ave. Bucyrus, OH 44820 with Pastor Paul Staton and assistant Pastor Jeffrey Parsons officiating. Visitation will be on Thurs. Jan. 2, 2019 from 4:00-7:00PM at the church. Interment will be in Iberia Cemetery, Iberia.
