Douglas Gene Whiteamire

Douglas Gene Whiteamire, 85 of Marion passed away on Monday June 27, 2022 at home following a one year battle with cancer. Douglas was born June 6, 1937 in Kirkpatrick, OH to the late Richard and Mary Ellen "Susie" (Reed) Whiteamire. He was married February 9, 1963 to Silvia (Gracia) Whiteamire who survives. In addition to his wife, Douglas is survived by son Douglas D Whiteamire of Marion; grandsons Damion Whiteamire and Lauren Cruz; brothers John "Jack" (Bonita) Whiteamire of Caledonia and Curtis R. (Carmen) Whiteamire of Laredo, TX; as well as many friends and nieces and nephews.

Douglas graduated from Caledonia High School in 1955 and lived his entire life in the Caledonia and Marion areas. He was an Army Veteran and member of the VFW Post #7201 in Marion. Douglas began working for the Erie Lackawanna R.R. and retired from Conrail in 1999. He enjoyed his yard work, golfing, and travel.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Friday July 8, 2022 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the VFW Post 3313, 961 N. Main St., Marion with a time of sharing at 6:00 pm, Military Rites will follow. The family suggests memorials be in the form of contributions to Wounded Warriors.
