Donald P. Berndt age 60, of Marion, died at his residence on Sunday April 7, 2019.
He was born on May 18, 1958 to the late Donald C. and Patricia J. (Shideler). He married Deborah Christian on March 30, 2019 and she survives in Marion. Donald is also survived by his step daughter Brandy Nilsen, brothers Stephen Berndt and Gregory Berndt, sister Anita Duckworth, nieces and nephews Stacy Duckworth, Justin Berndt, Tara Berndt, Cole Berndt, Billy Berndt and many great nieces, nephews and cousins.
Donald graduated from Hernando high school in Brookvile, FL and received his associate degree from Phoenix College. He was a veteran serving as a special forces military police officer for 5 years. He also worked for the Florida Department of Corrections. He enjoyed reading, fishing and was a penguin fanatic. Donald was very helpful and will be remembered for his kindness.
